Morning,
I've always loved dishes, been a dish girl for as long as I can remember! My first set of dishes were from my ex mother-in-law back in the 70's. I've never liked the set, it was way to "traditional" for me back then. The funny thing is I've never broken a piece of that 12 piece plate setting?
When I head in to GW my first stop is the "furniture" section, and then it's the "dish" section. Over the last few months I've found some lovely dishes..all are from GW.
I love blue dishes, and was so happy when I found this 5 piece set of Enoch Wedgwood "Countryside" ironstone. I paid $2.59 a plate, and $1.69 for the smaller ones. I know these have been found cheaper, but I'm happy just the same.
I was driving home from my 1st Elkhorn Flea Market in September, and passed a GW in Lake Zurich, had to stop in and I was so glad I did. Found a 4 piece place setting of this gorgeous pattern.
The pattern has two "castles" in an landscape setting, Taylor Smith, U.S.A, 2493. Plates $1.69, bowls $.89.
William Sonoma Brittany 6 piece set, a cow, pig, rooster, lamb, chicken and ducks, $7.99. I plan on using these in my kitchen.
I almost peed my pants when I saw this 4 piece set (1 cup), all sitting together, must of just been put on the shelf. Staffordshire England Ironstone "English Garden" 4424. I certainly cried when I dropped the bag breaking 3 of the bowls :-{ Plates, $1.79, others .89.
White Ironstone, Wm Adams & Sons, Real English Ironstone, Empress Pattern. Gw, 4 dinner plate, $1.79 each, and 8 salad plates $.89 a piece.
Vintage Poppytrail "Woodland Gold" pattern made in California, 8 dinner plates for $3.79
4 Royal Worcester Evesham Gold salad plates, $.89 each.
Ironstone, Octogan Green, USA made, $.89 cents each. We've been using these for dinner this fall. Love the candlewick pattern on sides.
I laughed when I saw these two turkey plates, $.49 each.
Hubs frown when I bring in more dishes, and I understand I don't have a buffet to keep safe in, but I'm on a lookout for one.
Have you been Dish.a.lic.ous thrifting lately!
